“Then everything dissolved as an effect of acceleration, and now human signs are turning back into their original magma, where light glitters for no eyes and information is eternally silent.“
– Franco ”Bifo” Berardi, Breathing: Chaos and Poetry

Semiotic Hurricane is a dance and choreography project where I am exploring pactivity and acceleration in duration. The exploration allies itself with texts by Buyng-Chul Han and Franco “Bifo” Berardi, as well as twitching guinea pigs, rattling dentures and music by Scott Cazan. It takes the shape of a dancing solo and wondering: What emerges in a storm of meaning?
I initiated this project during a residency at Movement Research in New York, the summer 2023. The work has been presented in-progress at Eden’s Expressway/Movement Reseach, ccap and Vardagsrummet/Watch me bake! in Uppsala. During the spring 2024 it was part of a mentorship program together with palveheidler.
Semiotic Hurricane has received support from Konstnärsnämnden, Movement Research, Region Uppsala, Knivsta CIK and ccap.
Dessa två olika ingångar kopplas ihop i Semiotic hurricane så att hyperspeed – dess mentalitet och kritiska potential – undersöks och sätts i spel.
